Our summer sports programme gives learners the opportunity to stay active, develop new skills, and reach their full potential.
Athletics is one of Vredenburg Primary School’s proud sporting traditions. Through dedicated coaching, hard work, and perseverance, our athletes develop their talents and consistently perform at a high level each year.
We participate in a range of local, provincial, and national athletics events, including the West Coast, Saldanha Bay, West Boland, Boland, and Western Cape Championships, as well as the Cherrylane-Gericke Athletics Meeting, Bredasdorp Top 10, and the South African Championships.
We are proud of our coaches’ involvement in athletics at management level, as well as former learners such as Gezelle Magerman, who continues to inspire our young athletes. At Vredenburg Primary School, we aim to develop not only champions on the track, but also young people with character, discipline, and perseverance.

At Vredenburg Primary School, we are proud of our own half-Olympic-size swimming pool, which provides excellent opportunities for training, development, and participation. Our swimming facilities are used by our swimmers, biathletes, and Physical Education classes, ensuring that learners can make the most of this facility throughout the year.
We host two major swimming galas annually, attracting more than ten schools. These events give our swimmers the opportunity to develop their talents, gain valuable experience, and compete confidently at a competitive level.
