SUMMER SPORT

TAKES PLACE DURING TERM 1 & 4

Our summer sports programme gives learners the opportunity to stay active, develop new skills, and reach their full potential.

ATHLETICS

CRICKET

Cricket is a sport that promotes teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. At Vredenburg Primary School, we offer cricket from the U/11 level, giving learners the opportunity to develop their skills and cultivate a love for the game.

Our teams participate in the local West Coast League, competing against schools from the surrounding communities. Through regular matches and dedicated coaching, our players develop not only as cricketers, but also as sportsmen who demonstrate respect, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

MINI-CRICKET

SWIMMING

At Vredenburg Primary School, we are proud of our own half-Olympic-size swimming pool, which provides excellent opportunities for training, development, and participation. Our swimming facilities are used by our swimmers, biathletes, and Physical Education classes, ensuring that learners can make the most of this facility throughout the year.

We host two major swimming galas annually, attracting more than ten schools. These events give our swimmers the opportunity to develop their talents, gain valuable experience, and compete confidently at a competitive level.

TENNIS

Vredenburg Primary School has three tennis courts, which were fully upgraded in 2019. These excellent facilities provide our learners with the ideal environment to develop their skills and cultivate a love for the sport.

During the summer months, our junior and senior groups train regularly under the guidance of dedicated coaches.

BIATHLON

We are proud of our strong biathlon programme, where talent, perseverance, and dedication go hand in hand. Under the guidance of experienced coaches – including national-level coaches who form part of our teaching staff – our learners receive training of an exceptionally high standard.

Our biathletes regularly achieve success at provincial and national level and have the opportunity to participate in leading events across the country.
